Objectives
The objective of the Community and Social Infrastructure Activities and Services sub component is to empower communities to plan , execute, manage and operate identified infrastructure activities and maintain them in view of the expanding scope of social services already available to the communities.
Main Activities
- Facilitating communities to identify their community and social infrastructure needs and priorities for improving their quality of life
- Providing technical assistance for the formulation of socially acceptable, technically sound and cost effective sub projects on community infrastructure and for implementation them
- Helping village communities to identify and prioritize village development needs to be included in the Village Development Plan during PRA process
- Helping village communities to operate, maintain and manage village infrastructure and services set up under the project
- Providing facilities for social, technical and environmental appraisal and sanctioning of sub projects

| Implementation Arrangements |
| All activities are to be implemented with community participation throughout the project cycle. Such participation includes 10% cash contribution and 20% labour contribution. The Gemidiriya Foundation will contribute the balance 70% of the project cost, keeping the fixed budget allocation at 45% or as stipulated under the umbrella financing agreement. |
